Finally, after weeks and even months of waiting we will now start our Globekicker project and commence the journey to and through Asia. Now, that we have been planning all this for more than a year, we are not only glad but also relieved to leave Germany for this experience. In the last weeks we spent our time applying for Visa, fighting against the beast of German bureaucracy and explaining to our friends why we had not yet left for our trip. In the course of our planning we had to aknowledge that the preparation of projects like ours requires an enormous amount of time.
Now that everything is prepared and (hopefully) all things are packed into our “Bully” Bernd, we have to leave our families and closest friends, but in the same time, we are looking forward to all what may encounter us in the next months.
Right from the start we will have our Libero table soccer table with us. We are excited about people’s reactions to this unknown toy being built up in front of them. We will hopefully make people curious about it. Playing with strangers we want break communication barriers. We are certain that the language of table soccer is spoken all over the world: in Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and India.
We, the Globekickers, want to thank all those, who made this project possible for us, and these, who supported us by their advice!
We particularly want to thank our sponsors:
Matthias, whose table soccer we may use for our project.
Philipp Dörrie, who spent a lot of time doing most of the webdesign and grapic design for us!
And all employees of the T3 Schmiede in Looft (Hamburg), who really put our car into good shape again!
Starting now, we will try to refresh and fill our website with reports and pictures (coming soon!) as often as possible. We will do everything to keep you updated!
We hope that all of you will visit our website as frequently as possible and make our project public if possible! See you soon, perhaps playing soccer on the Himalaya!
